"Teamwork requires that everyone's efforts flow in a single direction. Feelings of significance happen when a team's energy takes on a life of it's own... Great teamwork is the only way to reach our ultimate moments, and create breakthroughs that define our careers and fulfill our lives." Pat Riley
All the Avalon buildings in the valley have come together for the last 4 years to compete in a soft ball tournament by single elimination. 10 buildings/teams came together for this year. My nerves really got me going at the beginning of the week about playing because my bosses/co-workers all made it seem like a huge deal. We showed up at the ball park and didn't waste any time, we started warm ups. Throwing balls, catching, and batting. I found my bosses were right, it was huge deal, it was going to be a 'real' tournament. The umpires were calling the shots, all the batters names were announced over the intercom (may not seem huge, but it was nerve racking for me), and couches were making the calls of who plays which game/inning. Even though our team didn't win, we worked as a team and had some amazing plays. I absolutely adore my co-workers, they are an uplifting bunch, we've become close, I love being apart of this management team. An 8 hour work day has never been so much fun!
